MENSA test accepted for admission?

Postby dilbert on Fri Jul 09, 2010 21:02

Just found out about Cerebrals Society. I took a Mensa test last year and got a result that would be sufficient for direct admission. Is the Mensa test accepted? Didn't find any information about this on the home page.

I wasn't aware they gave you any more information other than Pass/Fail with their test.

They do. I received a letter with the IQ and the percent rank (which was rounded to zero decimals, which is a very intelligent choice, when you got something above 99,5. A percent rank of 100 is absolute nonsense, because this rank means "You're better than x% of the population", and better that 100% means "even better than yourself").

My test result is 143.

Hello
A percentile of 100 means that you are the smartest human ever

I'm not sure whether a percentile of 100 is even possible. If i'm not wrong then the percentile shows you how many people in the population are less smart than you. But you are also a part of the population and so it shouldn't be possible to get a percentile of 100 because that would mean that you're smarten than yourself and that's not possible. Am i wrong?

You would be theoretically smarter than yourself with the very absolute minimal test wise, just not in reality thats all. a touch more intelligent than you

I mean the 9s got to end somewhere. I'd just give him the 100 rather than all the 9s. But I have never been one for the fine details

You could read the Admission page before posting. Contact at the e-mail given and give as many data about the test as possible and i would give my basic personal data too in order to reduce useless e-mailing.

Good luck and i hope you join!

We are giving you all a starting IQ of 144, the accepting criterion IQ for Cerebrals, but can you keep it? lets find out!

Can you talk on a cellphone and cross a busy street in sync? :)

If so please deduct 20 points :)

Otherwise add the same amount of points!

Can you text while driving?

If you can please deduct another 20 points :)

if not +20

Do you always leave an extra 2 or 3 car lengths between yourself and the especially idiotic driver infront of you?

If you do please + 10 points

if instead you are looking at your smeared lipstick in the rear-view. -10 points

Do you slow down or speed up when approaching an intersection?

If you speed up -10 points

if you slow down +10 points.

Do you try and dart in and out of traffic like a maniac when pressed for time or do you realize that no matter how many seconds might be saved by doing this also constitute for your resting place should a text from your girlfriend come in-between you.

If you realize this then +10 points
if not -10 points.

If you answered all the questions wrong you need to breathe in a little less toxic city air or possibly just have a deathwish
if you were very safe in all of your answers congrats you might either be A) a liar B) a super-safe driving universal genius!
Oh, and if you failed miserably on this test congrats on having a room temperature IQ and still being among the living!!!! Though I doubt there are many of those types here!

This was just a fun test I made while laying in bed, bored, with nothing to do except spam cerebrals forum with off topic trash :)
